Excellent retro homage watch, great seller!

My first Alpha watch was a 36mm Explorer black dial and I love it. Then I bought the Ivory dial Daytona which I also love! When I saw the red dial variant, I knew I had to have it! It’s a beautiful watch, with a gorgeous and reliable Seagull hand winding movement! It’s an excellent watch at a great price!

A mini review.

This retro homage is so much fun I can hardly take it off. It's small, compact, mechanical and perfect.

My whole idea for getting red dial was to put it on a cheap ZRC Rally leather band. The Rally band is black and has red stitching with 3 red holes on each side of the band.
So the watch arrives before the leather band and I have to say I adore the bracelet. When the band showed up I really didn't want to take the bracelet off but I did and the watch looks even more amazing if that is possible.
The retro look of it is incredible with the retro racing style band going with the retro racing style watch.
The power reserve is utterly amazing too. At full wind the sometimes reported crown being unable to be screwed in seems gone on my example. At full wind I just got 60hrs and 40minutes sitting on a table - about 4-6 hours less when being worn. The time keeping is excellent too.

Some things to be aware of: I have a 190mm wrist and the bracelet fits perfectly on the biggest micro adjustment. If your wrist is bigger than 190mm you're going to need extra links.
Also the dial colour; the red version is not as red as you might think. Computer monitor tint and other variables made it look red to my eye before I purchased but in reality it is more towards a dark pink in certain artificial light. Fitting a black leather band with red highlights completely rebalances the tint from the 'pink' gradient so the dial looks red again. It tricks the eye so you don't notice it. It isn't pink but it is shifted towards that colour in a retro sort of way, so something to be aware of if you're expecting a true red dial.

Also, after reading reviews I took the express postage option. From Europe to my workplace in regional Australia was prompt - ordered on a Friday night, got notification of sent on Monday, had it that Friday. Not too bad from Europe.

Runs perfect! A better watch for this price isn't possible.
